Kasen and Potty Training...

Well Kasen has shown an interest in potty training for a long time, off and on. We started trying back in November with luck for a few times, but then absolute refusal!!! He has such an attitude and knows exactly what he is doing, he just has to make up HIS mind to do it! We have tried everything! Well I was reading my friends blog and their story seemed similar to my experience trying to potty train Kasen, I had never heard of the "the cold shower" theory. So I thought well let's try it. So I did I warned him, I would put him in a cold shower if he went in his pants again, he did and he did it on purpose! So I picked him up and he started screaming and I put him in a cold shower for a second, I felt so horrible, like I had really hurt him emotionally! For the rest of the day he went in the potty, I thought well, if this is working for him, GREAT!!! Maybe it isn't that bad of a thing to do. The next day, back to square 1 had no desire to go in the toilet, etc..! Finally Tuesday Kasen wanted to wear underwear only and refused to wear a pull-up, so I put on underwear and thought well this is going to be a disaster! To my surprise no accidents, in the potty every time!!! I was so EXCITED and thought he is well on his way!!! Wednesday, was awful, he had an accident every time, but I kept putting on underwear and a new outfit (we went through 6!) Lots of people told me whatever you do don't go back, so I didn't finally this time. The worst was he was sitting on the coffee table watching a movie, I was in the kitchen cooking and came to get my phone that was on the coffee table. It was now laying in a puddle, of.... you guessed it pee!!! I was ticked and said forget it you are getting a cold shower for this one, we don't pee on the coffee table!!! So Kasen had a cold shower (hopefully his last) and has made it to the potty every time with no accidents since then!!! Poor thing the next morning he woke up came in my room and said "no cold shower?, no cold shower? I go in the potty!!! So I think we are finally potty trained! Hooray!!!
