Disneyland 2010!

I love disneyland and we finally got to go! Chris was rotating with an awesome OB that only worked Monday-Wednesday, but had to go out of town so wouldn't be on call for the weekend because he was going out of town for his daughters graduation from college.  Chris found out Tuesday night so Wednesday I packed all day and as soon as Chris got home we left for Disneyland! We invited our Mom's for Mother's Day Jake couldn't get off work, but my Mom could so she came too! It was a blast and we had so much fun! They were running a special on their 5 day park hopppers since we only used 3 days the next weekend I went with the boys and our sisters and used up the other 2 days! What an absolute blast we all had! Carter loved the rides and Kasen was all about the characters it was so cute to see them! The last time Kasen was there he was 6 months old so this was really his first "disneyland" experience!

Here we are on Splash Mountain!
Carter loved this ride and went a ton with his aunts when we came back! Kasen rode it once and didn't care to ride it again, but he LOVED the Winnie the Pooh ride, we must have rode it 6 times!

Kasen was a half inch too short for the “good” rides like Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain, Star Tours, etc...  When the girls and I came back the next week we rolled up a sock and put it at the back where his heel was to elevate him just enough to ride the rides he really wanted too!  I shouldn’t teach my kids to cheat, but a half inch, come on, for Star Tours (he really wanted to ride it because he loves R2D2).  So a few days later we were at the Brimhall Pool for a school swim party and he wanted to ride the water slides I said I am sorry, but you are too short.  He said, “No problem Mom you can just roll up my sock in my shoe then I can ride them.”  OOPS!!!

We loved California Adventure! Here we are at Bugs Life with our bug glasses!
This 4D movie was a lot of fun! We loved all the rides here and had a really fun time!

Here we are walking to Disneyland it was a little over a mile each way from our hotel which isn’t bad, but when you have waked for 10 hours already and stood in line you don’t enjoy the mile walk back to the hotel as much! The boys were troopers though!
They had a restaurant at the hotel and the boys loved their Mickey Mouse pancakes with bacon every morning!  It was pretty warm and hot the whole time we were there.  The boys loved the rides, the parades, and the fireworks show! We all had such a great time!
We also got to see Dani and Kevin and adorable Nathaniel!!!

Kasen’s favorite characters just happen to be Chip and Dale, we tried so hard to find them and kept missing them. We found out that at the restaurant Goofy’s Kitchen they are there all the time and if we went we could see them! It was really fun and Kasen LOVED it and so did Carter he even got into the characters!   It was such a neat experience and the food was delicious!  Every 15 minutes the characters would come to the middle of the restaurant and all the kids could get up and dance with them then come back and eat and the characters would make their rounds to all the tables so we got one on one with all of them and got to take pictures! The ones that were there that night were Goofy, Pluto, Mickey, Minnie, Snow White, Jasmine, Mulan, Chip and Dale.

Kasen loved Pluto and when we first saw him he was in a cage in toon town and Kasen thought he was in jail so when we saw him again and every time after that he would ask him,
"Hey how did you get out of jail?!"  He was so confused!

Carter and Kasen with Goofy!

Here is Katelynn meeting the princesses!  Minnie Mouse really took a liking to Carter and even gave him a kiss on the cheek!

Kasen’s face says it all! He finally got to meet them!!!  He loves Chip and Dale!

When all us sisters went we were just getting ready to leave and we saw Minnie with Mickey and Donald with Daisy and the lady said, “you really want to get your pictures taken with them, this is a RARE occasion that they are ever together at the same place and time as couples and Daisy doesn’t make appearances ever, they just use her costume for rare occasions”.  So of course we wanted our pictures with them even though we looked terrible! We had rode Splash Mountain a ton, sweated and were tired and Kasen was a sleep, but Bri got him to open his eyes just enough for the pictures!  So here we are!   Apparently they were all dressed up for a photo shoot and the camera wasn’t working so they sent them out to the square to take pictures.

Then when we got to our car that night we were so tired and the kids were dying to swim in the Mickey Mouse shaped pool so we were trying to hurry back to let them swim for a few minutes.   When we got to our car the back tire was as FLAT as could be! Darn it! Bri knew how to change a tire, but the rest of us didn’t we flagged down some nice men who tried to help us, but we couldn’t get the jack in the right spot to do it, so we called Chris and he tried to talk us through it, but it didn’t work even the men couldn’t get it to work! The Yukons have this thing that you have to put the key in just the right spot to get the jack down any way, this other man stopped to help us and happened to have AAA so he called for us and an hour and a half later they finally came. They changed it in about 10 minutes with their power tools! There was a huge nail in the tire.  Wow were we so thankful for that Heavenly Father watches over us and protects us! We came to find out that the nice man who waited with us with his son to make sure that AAA came and helped us wasn’t even parked on our level he had mistakenly walked down the wrong parking area and was parked on a completely different floor. He didn’t realize it till he tried to go to his car when we were all leaving and security had to come up and escort him up because the parking lot was closing by the time we were all ready to leave!  I am always amazed at Gods grace and that he loves us and cares about us so much. He is always watching out for us and protecting us in so many ways!
